Acquired directly from the artists.
According to the colophon by Wu Hongzao, Florence Drumright visited the wife of Xu Beihong, Jiang Biwei (1899-1978), who showed Drumright a painting Xu did of the twelve zodiac animals. The painting made such an impression that she later had this album created.
